Assessment
Lower School:  All lower school students that apply to Mt. Bethel Christian Academy are required to undergo a general academic and group assessment.  Lower school assessments will be conducted on March 1, 2008.  After receiving your application, birth certificate, teacher recommendation/s, current and past report cards (where applicable), standardized test scores (where applicable), registration and assessment fee you will be notified by mail of an assessment time.

Middle School:  Prospective middle school students are required to take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) on or before March 1, 2008 to be considered in the initial round of enrollment.  Information on the SSAT is available at www.ssat.org.  Please be sure to register your child giving adequate time for the Academy to review scores and make enrollment decisions.  Test dates and locations are listed at this site.  In addition, students and parents need to schedule an interview with the middle school principal.  It is requested that parents sign up for an interview as soon as possible after submitting their child’s application.  Interviews are usually conducted after school.  A student’s file in not considered complete until the Academy has received all forms (letters of recommendation, standardized test scores, and report cards), results from the SSAT and the interview notes.

Chapel
Chapel is held on Tuesdays for middle school students and Wednesdays for lower school students.  All parents are welcome to join their children for the service.

Lunch Program
Lunch is provided every day in our cafeteria.  Students can choose between a hot lunch and salad bar.  Milk, juice and water are provided as well.  Students may also bring a lunch from home.  No fast food is permitted.  Parents are welcome to join their children for lunch with advance notice.

Financial Information

Financial Aid
Financial Aid is available and awards are made on the basis of financial need.  Application for financial aid may be made when the admission application is submitted.  PFS (Parents’ Financial Statement) Forms are available in the Admissions Office or online at http://www.nais.org/financialaid/sss/ and must be submitted to the School and Student Services (SSS) for Financial Aid in Princeton, NJ for consideration.  All forms must be completed and submitted to the SSS by February 15th to be considered for financial assistance for the 2008-2009 school year.  The amount of financial aid is determined by the School Board and the funds available and distribution awards are made by a financial aid committee made up of school board members and administrators.  Each family who receives a financial aid award should expect to pay some tuition.

Financial Policy
$1000.00 of the annual tuition is due upon enrollment of each student.  This tuition deposit, as well as subsequent tuition payments, is non-refundable if a student is withdrawn from the school.

Once admitted, students are financially committed for the entire academic year, unless, at the time of enrollment, other terms have been arranged in writing.  Thus the enrollment of a child is with the understanding that the parent is responsible for the full year’s tuition regardless of the length of time the student is in attendance.  No reduction or remission of fees can be allowed by the school for absence, withdrawal or dismissal.  Tuition insurance must be purchased by parents opting to pay in 3-pay or 10-pay installments.  Refer to the fee schedule for tuition insurance fees.
