Students at MBCA are responsible for contributing their time and gifts to a number of different missions in and around the world and the community they live in. Mt. Bethel Christian Academy participates in the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Student Sponsorship program by contributing money to disadvantaged children around the world. Each MBCA classroom sponsors a child and becomes the sole provider for that student. Collections are taken weekly at Chapel and sent to the member schools. This sponsorship money goes further than just helping children with practical needs. Student sponsorship provides children a hope and a future. Students develop a growing relationship with God, find jobs that will allow them to assist their families and community, become Christian educators themselves, better understand how to impact their cultures for Christ and develop and appreciate the biblical worldview taught through Christian education.
In addition to the school-wide ACSI Sponsorship program, each grade level adopts a mission project and contributes their time to nurturing their mission through donation, visits and volunteerism. Examples of their missions include Sunrise Assisted Living, the Make a Wish Foundation, MUST Ministries, the Older Adult Center at Mt. Bethel UMC and Camp Hope, a ministry designed to assist families and children of prisoners.
In addition to the monthly missions, the students are also involved in an annual food collection for MUST ministries during Thanksgiving and the annual Operation Christmas Child program bringing boxes with gifts for boys and girls in need.
The students of Mt. Bethel Christian Academy are proud of their service while learning to be faithful stewards for Christ. Through this service they are earning the respect and self-respect that comes with making positive contributions to society and mankind.
