Financial Support of Our School

  • MBCA Family,

It is our honor and privilege to chair the 2023-24 MBCA Annual Fund, partnering with you to support the school we love so dearly. We have been blessed to call Mt. Bethel Christian Academy home since 2016. As kindergarten approached for our daughter, we began researching and visiting schools, both private and public.  We made it just past the lobby on our tour of MBCA and  immediately knew that we had found our school home!
We recognized that this school matched our vision for our children’s education and would be a place where they could grow and excel with a Christ-centered education. Now, seven years later, we consider it a huge blessing to call this school ours and to be a part of the MBCA family.

Our daughter, Harper, is in 7th grade and our son, James, is in 3rd grade. We know that our children are being supported, challenged and empowered each day by MBCA’s outstanding  faculty and staff. We see the mission of MBCA lived out through our children’s experiences:  Academic Excellence: students are held to high standards with small class sizes to support these goals; Spiritual Growth: every subject is taught through a biblical lens in an environment that is led by Christ’s love; Love of Learning: MBCA cultivates a culture of curiosity, exploring subjects from multiple angles and methods to connect with students and build an enduring enthusiasm to learn and grow.

Sending our children to MBCA is an investment in their future. We are investing in an environment of nurturing and empowering educators, spiritual and academic enrichment, and a world view founded upon the love and grace of Jesus Christ.  This investment is significant, but tuition covers approximately 90% of MBCA’s operating budget.  As a result, the school relies on the Annual Fund to bridge that gap, and the impact on all of our students is immeasurable!

The goal for the 2023-2024 Annual Fund is $800,000 with 100 percent participation from families by October 31. Faculty, staff, and the Board of Trustees are leading the way! Soon, you will receive an email or phone call from our volunteers about how to make your gift or pledge. You can go online to make your pledge or gift (www.mtbethelchristian.org/support/annual-fund), you can complete a pledge card and send it to school with your student, or you can text GIVE to (770) 637-3868. Also, please inquire with your employer about a matching gift; many companies offer matching gifts as part of their corporate responsibility programs. Matching gifts are reflected in your giving levels.

The Annual Fund is essential to the finances of our school; it supports security enhancements, cutting edge technology, tuition assistance, helps keep tuition as low as possible, and attracts and retains exceptional faculty and staff. The Annual Fund differs from a capital campaign in that the Annual Fund supports operations, while a capital campaign allows for facility expansion and upgrades. Robust Annual Fund participation is critical as we seek support from philanthropic organizations as well.

It is an exciting time to be an Eagle, and giving is easy when you love something this much! We humbly ask that you prayerfully consider making a gift that is meaningful for your family.  Every gift is important, and will be well-utilized and greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for partnering with us!

With sincere gratitude,

Erin & Jason Essary

About the Fund

Independent schools such as Mt. Bethel Christian Academy traditionally conduct an annual giving campaign in the fall of each year. Some schools call it the Annual Sustaining Fund. Others call it the Loyalty Fund. We simply call ours the Annual Fund. The goals for the 2022-2023 Annual Fund are: One hundred percent parent, faculty, and board participation and $800,000.

The Annual Fund is a source of supplemental revenue used to augment the operating budget and address needs that tuition cannot provide. Your participation, in the form of a tax deductible gift, is very important to us. Gifts will support every aspect of the school's mission and provide MBCA with the resources it needs to enrich the superior, Christ-centered learning environment our students deserve.
  • Attracting and retaining the best faculty and staff
  • Facilities and programs maintenance and enhancements
  • MBCA's Endowment for long-term financial stability
  • One-to-One iPads, laptops, and our digital library with more than 2,000 eBooks
  • Fine arts, languages and athletics
  • Small class size
  • Field trips, field day, and events such as Grandparent's Day.
All members of the Mt. Bethel community – parents, faculty, grandparents, board of trustees and other friends – are asked to contribute to the Annual Fund. Please also visit the Matching Gifts section of our website to learn more about doubling your contribution with a matching gift from your employer.

Annual Fund Versus Capital and Fundraising Campaigns

While there will be periodic appeals made for specific needs, the Annual Fund is an ongoing, annual vehicle to enhance the excellence of our Academy for which there is no other revenue source. There may be Capital Campaigns from time to time which are used to address specific construction or renovation projects of a long term nature.

The Academy is so very thankful to the many faithful and generous supporters, parents, grandparents and friends, who choose to make financial gifts to the Academy. Their commitments help us continue to build the highest standards and to achieve an increasingly outstanding facility. To honor our contributors, Mt. Bethel Christian Academy recognizes the following giving levels in the Annual Report of Donors.
