We are delighted that you have decided to apply your child to Mt. Bethel Christian Academy and we look forward to assisting you with the application process. Each of the applicatiion steps are summarized below and may be selected for more information.

Step 1:  APPLICATION

To initiate the application process, please complete the following:
  • Online Application (due by February 1 for First-Round Decisions; thereafter, applications will be considered on a rolling basis)
  • Application Fee of $100 (submit by mail, within 7 days)
  • Birth Certificate (submit by mail, within 7 days)

Step 2:  TEACHER EVALUATION

Please complete the appropriate portion of the Teacher Evaluation Forms and forward to your child’s current teacher(s) for completion. We ask that the teachers return the evaluations to us within seven days.

Step 3:  SCHOOL RECORDS

For students already enrolled in elementary or middle school, please complete the Transcripts Release Authorization form and give to your child’s current school, authorizing them to submit to us a copy of your child’s current report card and a copy of the previous year’s final grades, along with any standardized test scores that may be in their file. This is due within seven days of submitting your child’s online application.

Step 4:  SCHOOL VISIT & ACADEMIC TESTING

Kindergarten  Applicants - $75 fee (submit by mail)

All Kindergarten applicants must be assessed for their readiness to begin school. Students will be observed in a small group setting, as well as given a one-on-one readiness assessment. Students being considered in our First-Round of decisions will be assessed on February 9, 2013, by appointment only. All other applicants will be assessed by appointment only. A member of our Admission staff will contact you with your scheduled appointment time.                                    

First – Fifth Grade Applicants - $75 fee (submit by mail)

  • All first grade through fifth grade applicants are required to spend a day visiting a class in their current grade-level. This is a fun day for the students, giving them an opportunity to experience a full day as an academy student, going to class, lunch, specials, etc. During the course of their visit, we will administer their academic assessment, helping us gain a better understanding of the his/her academic exposure and abilities. A member of our Admission team will contact you to schedule this appointment.

Sixth – Eighth Grade Applicants – $116 fee (submit to SSAT.org)

SSAT Testing - Middle school applicants are required to submit SSAT scores to the Academy (Register online at www.ssat.org). The SSAT Code for Mt. Bethel Christian Academy is 5260. This test is offered once a month; we recommend taking the test by January 2013 to have the results reported in time for our First-Round decisions. Applications with scores received after February 1 will be considered on a rolling basis).

Step 5:  PERSONAL INTERVIEW

Middle School applicants will have a brief interview with the Middle School Principal. 

Step 6:  DECISION LETTERS

After the Admission Committee reviews your child’s file, a decision letter will be sent. Parents new to the academy are then asked to meet with the Head of School for a time of introduction.

Applications completed by February 1, 2013 will be considered in our First-Round of decisions, with decision letters being mailed by February 15, 2013. Applications received after the initial deadline will be considered on a rolling admission basis and as classroom space is available, with decision letters mailed in a timely manner.
