Miss National Teen, Alumna, Visits Academy

Stephanie Burkholder, Academy alumna and Miss National Teen, spent last Thursday at the Academy receiving pajamas from Lower Schools students for her “Dream Big Dreams” project. In collaboration with Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Stephanie collects pajamas at speaking engagements to distribute to inner city youth who often only carry with them the clothes they are wearing. Lower School students donated approximately 300 pairs of pajamas to help their Academy big sister.

Stephanie also read “Pajama Day” to Ms. Hahn’s Kindergarten class. Stephanie is a sophomore in SMU’s Honors College. She maintains a 3.8 GPA while travelling all over the United States to fulfill her role as Miss National Teen.
