The Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program Reports 2011 Results to Georgia Department of Revenue

Atlanta – January 12, 2012 – Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program, Inc. (GOAL) submits its 2011 contribution and scholarship award results to the Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR). 

 2011 Results:
·         5,641 contributions, totaling $12,513,346, were made to GOAL by Georgia taxpayers in exchange for 2011 Georgia income tax credits.
·         5,560 of the contributions, totaling $9,512,819, were received from individual taxpayers.
·         81 of the contributions, totaling $3,000,527, were received from corporate taxpayers.
·         GOAL disbursed 2,732 scholarship awards totaling $10,231,968 to students in pre-K-12.
·         The average GOAL Scholarship award in 2011 was $3,745, and the adjusted gross income of recipients, adjusted for family size, was $25,908.

Life to Date Results (2008 through 2011):
·         16,836 contributions, totaling $40,367,603, have been made to GOAL by Georgia taxpayers in exchange for Georgia income tax credits.
·         16,637 of the contributions, totaling $29,781,523, were received from individual taxpayers.
·         199 of the contributions, totaling $10,586,080, were received from corporate taxpayers.
·         GOAL disbursed 5,352 scholarship awards totaling $22,275,546.
·         GOAL has obligated an additional $15,509,394 that is earmarked for fulfilling future scholarship payments and awarding additional scholarships to parents who choose to send their children to qualified private pre-K-12 schools.
·         The average GOAL Scholarship award is $4,162, and the adjusted gross income of recipients, adjusted for family size, is $25,285.
