Our approach to world language instruction in the middle school is intentional and effective. In sixth grade, students will take one semester of Latin and one semester of Spanish. In seventh grade, each student will choose Latin or Spanish and over the course of their seventh and eighth grade years, they will complete a course of study equivalent to high school Spanish I or Latin I.
Curriculum includes reading and translating Latin passages, Roman History, Roman Culture and Classical Mythology. Students continue their study of Latin Roots and English Derivatives. Eighth graders participate in the National Classical Etymology Exam.
