Digital Art and Photography - 8th Grade

They will use Adobe Photoshop and Light Room for photography projects. The goal for this year is to engage in the creative process, learn new vocabulary and concepts, and begin manipulating digital images. Students will incorporate the 7 Elements of Art and the 7 Principles of Design into their images. Photography will focus on artistry and composition, not just image manipulation. They will also explore the evolution of digital art and its impact on the art world, pop culture, and our daily lives. We will also explore famous digital artists and photographers. Students will complete approximately 6-8 projects for the year. It Is important to remember that digital art is process oriented and will typically require several class periods to complete.
