Intro to Art (9th-12th Grades)

Students are introduced to several different areas of 2-D and 3-D art forms, including drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, and sculpture. Students begin to develop and analyze their own artistic styles and preferences while exploring different historical art periods and artists. Students respond to and interpret their own artwork as well as the work of others through discussions, critiques, and written and visual responses. Projects will be based on an understanding and use of the basic “Elements of Art” and “Principles of Design.”
