Upper School

Students in the Upper School can choose Directed Studies, Math Support, or Writing Center.
In the Directed Studies path, students will learn time management, organization, and study skills as they work on advocating for themselves in preparation for college courses. Working alongside a teacher who will hold them accountable and monitor their grades, students will improve their skills and develop successful implementation strategies of those skills in the school environment. Directed Studies meets every other day, in accordance with the block schedule. Class size is limited to 6 students per class, and enrollment preference will be given to students with a demonstrated need through an educational psychological evaluation.

Directed Studies - $4,000*

For ninth grade students, Math Support is offered through the Algebra 1 Daily class. Unlike the standard Algebra 1 course, the Algebra 1 Daily course meets every day to provide students additional support and cover the material more deeply. By the conclusion of the course, students will have covered the same topics that are covered in the standard Algebra 1 course. Class size is limited to 10 students.

For student in grades 10-12, support is offered through an additional Math Support Class that meets according to the block schedule. Students will take their standard level math class while also taking the Math Support Class. The Math Support Class will provide students additional instruction and time to review and practice material as needed.

Both Math Support Class options are limited in size. Although an educational psychological evaluation is not required, preference will be given to students with a current evaluation on file.

Math Support Classes - $4,000*

The Writing Center is a place where students can get one-on-one help with their writing. It's a low-pressure atmosphere where writers of all levels are able to get support on writing assignments. The Writing Center is open before and after school. Students can utilize the resources of the Writing Center by signing up in advance for a half-hour or hour-long conference with one of the faculty tutors.
