Spiritual Growth: at the end of the school year, our students, faculty, and board participated in the ACSI Flourishing Faith Index assessment, which gives us data on our students’ spiritual growth. Our results are benchmarked and the data we receive helps us assess how well we are accomplishing the Spiritual Growth part of our mission. 

Parent Input: We have just subscribed to a new tool that will garner family input throughout the year; it’s called Parent Pulse, and it not only allows parents to give real-time anonymous feedback, it also gives the school timely, aggregated data as well as specific feedback that will help us be as responsive as possible throughout the year.

Digital Citizenship: We are instituting a new school-wide program  to train our students on ethical, moral, and educational use of technology, to include AI.  We will be working off of Common Sense Media’s Digital Literacy Curriculum. Our emphasis comes from a commitment to a Biblical perspective and is scaffolded and customized to address the issues most relevant to each grade level.  

Band program: This year we are underway with Phase 1 of our strategic plan to strengthen and expand our band program.  More to come from our music department, and more to come from our student musicians!

Fine & Performing Arts: Like our Athletic Association, we are now forming a Fine Arts Association made up of parents who will have input into and support our fine and performing arts, to include theater, Film Academy, band and choral music, and the visual arts. Let us know if you’d like to be involved!

Relationship Task Force: We know that no matter where they are, or who they interact with, in person or online, at some point our children will face an unkind word, a social drama, perhaps even a mean-girl or bullying situation. But we are not satisfied with acknowledging that’s part of growing up.  At MBCA, we know that culture is created by what we promote, and what we permit.  Our Task Force is working on both to ensure we create the most nurturing environment for our students through new initiatives, modified policies, and faculty training. 

Flourishing Families Institute: The next step beyond our Relationship Task Force specifically includes our parents. After attending an ACSI conference, several faculty members are underway leading and training others in implementing the Flourishing Families Initiative, a three-phase process designed to equip Christian schools with a roadmap and resources to help families flourish. ​Our desire is to support every family in our school in creating conditions for spiritual growth.

Literacy Training: Through the generosity and support of our Parent Council, 100% of our JK–5th grade ELA teachers are now Orton-Gillingham trained and/or have completed the 65-hour Complete Reading Series training. This is a tremendous accomplishment and reflects our commitment to providing students with research-based, effective literacy instruction rooted in the Science of Reading.

Retention and Enrollment Growth: As we continue to grow and develop as a school, we are now implementing the Four Disciplines of Execution to ensure that we approach the school’s goals strategically.
