I’d like to read an email from a parent after our Middle School Costa Rica Mission Trip – a trip the parents described as “life-changing”:
Boys at this age are typically of few words and so was his journal. His written words may have been few but they were so incredibly powerful and heartfelt. Of course I was brought to tears by a 14-year-old boy turned young man. It was my prayer prior to and during the trip that he would shine for Christ and plant seeds in others that we, our Church, and MBCA have planted within him. He told us that he worked alongside Dr. Forrester one of the days and continued to work when others took a break. We asked him if he was worried about him appearing to be the teacher’s pet. His reply was “No I wasn’t, I was working for God and if the others thought differently then, well, they could take it up with Him.” Pretty Powerful!! Our amazing God was and is working on this boy. We are so thankful for this trip, for his wonderful Middle School experience and for your amazing team.
This is what we’re all about – students being inspired to grow academically & spiritually, and to come to own their own faith & learning!
Last year, one of our graduates shared with his peers that when he came to MBCA he knew he wasn’t living up to his academic potential, and he really had no idea what “spiritual growth” really meant. But now he’s at his first choice, tier-1 school, and he’s not only involved in campus ministries, he’s a student leader, sharing the good news of how a relationship with Christ has changed his life.
Parents vs. Coaches Game, Winter Sports Kick-off, and Bruce Crevier highlight the event on Thursday, October 30, at 6:00 p.m., at the CAC on the Lower & Middle Schools Campus.
